What is a Datasheet?

A Datasheet is a structured metadata artefact used to define, organize, and manage information consistently throughout the design delivery process. It acts as the only data container, ensuring that all required asset and space data is accurately captured and fully aligned with NEOM’s established project standards.

Each datasheet is divided into two key sections:

  • Requirements – Defines the expected or optimal attribute values and ranges that must be met to achieve design and performance compliance.
  • Information (Instances) – Records the actual data linked to model elements, enabling traceability, validation, and comparison against defined requirements.

Through the use of Datasheets, NEOM underpins data governance, quality assurance and technical engineering compliance by providing a standardized method for documenting and verifying information across the entire delivery. It ensures that all stakeholders have access to consistent, reliable, and validated information, strengthening coordination and decision-making at every stage of design delivery.
