Space Information refers to data produced by the Design Consultant, that is linked to BIM models representing individual spaces in a given Asset. It includes populated information about the Space Instance, linkage to the parent Asset, and assoication to the Space Requirement.

The attributes captured typically include Category, Name, Description, Data Type and Unit of Measure (UoM).

Fig. 1 - Space Information Datasheet Breakdown

1. Category & Attribute Requirement at Stage and Sector

The first row contains the category of an attribute for classification purposes. In the Figure 1, the category shown is Identity and these will differ from attribute to attribute.

The following are the existing cateogries:

  • The DB category is for tracking and identification of Spaces within the AII platform.
  • The Parent category tracks the Parent & Child relationships between Assets and Spaces.
  • The Identity category tracks the identity codes, names, and cateogries of a Space.

The second row contains information whether an attribute is mandatory to be filled at the current stage and for the current sector. The values can be either REQUIRED or NOT REQUIRED.

2. Attributes

The first row of Section 2 (as shown in Figure 1) contains the name of the attribute as reflected in the AII platform. The attributes have either the prefix INS_SPACE to differentiate between Requirements attributes and Information attributes.

The second row contains a text description of the attribute for information purposes.

The third row contains the data type expected for the attribute.

3. Data

The data section will contain the actual records of Spaces. i.e., the values of the above described attributes belonging to a specific Space in a given Asset that has a BIM model.
